We were thrilled to see improvements in this dialing speed. Over the years we have accepted and used any modem/router provided by the ISP. Gradually we realized that we could buy and use our own gear but didn't know what to do. Our son pointed us to this modem so we ordered it from Amazon a few days ago. We are excited and satisfied. Installation was very easy, even for an old man with average technical skills. Tape the incoming coax cable to the wall, connect the CAT 5 cable from the modem to the router, and you're done, except for one big thing: have your ISP enable the new modem. In our case, this was a lengthy process. Obviously some mistakes were made on their part, but in the end the job was done. Some of the complications were a result of our desire to keep our VOIP phone connection and this required us to use our ISP's modem/router for just this one service. If you don't have this requirement, you should have it much easier. To the results? Absolutely great! We may need to add a constraint. We didn't know exactly which installation steps to follow and in which order. Follow the printed instructions to make connections. When it's done, call your ISP, tell the real/recorded voice you want to enable the modem, and they'll take care of it.
