If you want to lift the cover to watch TV without removing the entire cover then this is not the product for you. The additional clear vinyl protection completely obscures the view and makes the screen blurry. Because of this, you need to remove the entire cover. I cut off the vinyl (see photo) because I didn't want to return it. But without it it won't open. Fifteen bucks later I added more velcro to hold it in place. I should have just returned it and saved $70. As a precaution, if you want to take it off every time and didn't buy it to leave it on while watching TV,
