Review on Cloud 9 Cruiser Select Saddle 10 75 by Charles Lardieri

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice construction, ended up working for me but maybe not for everyone

First of all, I think buying a bike seat is like buying shoes; Not every shoe fits every person - you may have to try on a few to see what works. This Cloud 9 was my first alternative to the stock seat on my RadMini step-thru e-bike and it was a definite improvement. But it wasn't entirely comfortable; I still have a bit of soreness in my butt after half an hour. So I tried a very similar seat from Bikeroo and it was initially better but still not great. Then it's on to Velmia's wide seat for everyday cruising - slightly narrower, very well built, but still not 'that'. I finally tried one of those extremely wide and weird looking YLG seats. Interesting, will work for many people but not for me; it is to be returned. A week ago I added a Redshift ShockStop suspension seatpost to the bike and returned to the collection. After trying everything but the YLG, I'm back to square one with the Cloud 9 - the combination of the new luggage rack with this seat seems best to me (see photo). But as said, your mileage and inventory may vary. I can recommend trying this seat; it is very well made and for me it is probably a guard next to ShockStop. But be prepared to try other options.

Pros
  • That's great
Cons
  • So-so
