I've read all the Scarlett reviews (v.2) and I still doubt the Focusrite USB driver is possible. I decided to pay a bit more hoping they would pay more attention to a premium model I guess? Well it works and sounds perfect! I hooked up a Shure SM7B via Cloudlifter and it sounds great. Haven't tried my Jackson across the board yet, but will update when I do. I had no noticeable lag when running my controller's keyboard through the midi port. Everything is smart out of the box. It's just DAW software that takes the fun out of me from time to time. The Focusrite software was a bit confusing at first (I think the same goes for the Scarlett range) but I figured it out and raced. I'm not a sound engineer or music lover, but I did notice a noticeable difference between the Clarett sound quality and the line out of my MB sound card (even with my cheap desktop speakers and HyperX headphones (that will be the next studio upgrade) ). I hope they keep this system updated for years to come (unlike my Digidesign001 which I was only able to revive on a dedicated XP SP1 PC?). I'm willing to buy a new phone every few years but not a perfectly working (and sounding) audio in/out.
