I got the Clarett and it was like someone took a scale from my ears

I never review anything. 5 minutes with this thing and I felt obligated. I had a 4 year old Scarlett who was damn decent. I bought a Clarett and it's like someone took a veil from my ears. Much more space and clarity. I just played the songs I recorded with Scarlett and it really was a revelation to the ears. I can't imagine what it would be like to record on the clarett, but is it as good at simple playback? Mayne Godt! Shut up and buy.

    • Too stupid

I upgraded with a small Scarlett Solo which worked every time. I thought I was getting a higher quality interface but this thing keeps crashing and I have to restart it and my DAW for it to work, although the power and USB LEDs and the controls in Live indicate it should work . Shut up - until I reboot the box and reload my DAW and then MAYBE get some line out out. I'll drop this one and get another Scarlett Solo.

I bought this item thinking it would be an upgrade for my 5 year old Focusrite 18/6; it is not. Are you really disappointed with the performance of this device and the new software that comes with it? Terrible. After a late install my computer just had problems and sometimes the sound would cut out even when playing the instrument. I thought it would be better, but it isn't. There may be something wrong with the device itself, but I don't think that's the problem. Be careful with this until…

Perfect as long as it works.

This interface was a nice improvement over my 1st generation Scarlett 2i2. Once I had everything set up the difference became apparent and everything coming through my monitors sounded much clearer. Some of my 2i2 projects quickly became flawed and Mic Pres with or without AIR capability was an improvement. The price was high, but I was completely satisfied. And then, a few weeks later, I started having blackouts. I would try to play a YouTube video or play a song in my media player and…

    Great USB interface

I have this 2pre USB that works fine with USB power, first a bit of trial and error and a firmware update on the hardware before it worked properly. This is a great upgrade from the 2i4 I used. In comparison, it has the same build quality as the 2i4, even slightly improved. The ability to control outputs 1/2 and 3/4 with the monitor control knob via the Focusrite controls is great compared to the 2i4. The sound quality is amazing and with the better circuitry in this unit compared to the 2i4…

    Sounds amazing, works great

I've read all the Scarlett reviews (v.2) and I still doubt the Focusrite USB driver is possible. I decided to pay a bit more hoping they would pay more attention to a premium model I guess? Well it works and sounds perfect! I hooked up a Shure SM7B via Cloudlifter and it sounds great. Haven't tried my Jackson across the board yet, but will update when I do. I had no noticeable lag when running my controller's keyboard through the midi port. Everything is smart out of the box. It's just DAW…

There are issues but overall a good unit.

There are a few things I like about this unit and so far I've had very few problems using it with a Catalina Mac Mini. I like the fact that it fits nicely in a 1U rack, doesn't require a wall mount and gives me a lot of flexibility with its relatively future-proof digital interface. Good quality preamp. I don't notice any noise, but I haven't actually tested it. 1 - The new Focusrite software, IMO, is inferior to its old software that came with my first gen 6i6 which was more intuitive. I don't

    Outstanding sound quality.

I've had it for a few months now. I replaced an old first generation Scarlett 18i8. I think the sound quality is slightly better but not a significant change (used for Adam A7X monitors). I find the included Focusrite control software easier to use than the software. who accompanied Scarlett. Easily create different mixes for headphones and monitors. The communication is good. There are two XLR inputs on the front and the rest on the back. Phantom power can be applied to inputs 1-4 and/or 5-8…

Excellent equipment with a few minor defects

Extremely well-made and well thought-out equipment. The ADC and DAC chips were developed a few years ago so are no longer state of the art but still work well and are used by most of Focusrite's competitors in this price range (and slightly higher). ). Wide dynamic range and low noise. In normal mode, the thing is completely transparent. Don't believe the reviewers who talk about its "sound" - the frequency response is flat and the distortion and noise are low enough to be out of place. In…
