I was helping a neighbor with a 2004 Pathfinder SE that was fitted with a Bose radio/amplifier system was. The battery died after 2-3 days if the car was not driven regularly. Reduced parasitic leakage current to the radio fuses that provide power to keep the head unit memory running, as well as the ability to eject CDs when the car is off. Something in the radio was "on" all the time, drawing 1/4 amp (250 milliamps) constantly, even when the car was completely off. I ended up biting the bullet and putting in a new radio head but wanted to keep the Bose amp. This level adapter routes 4 high level speaker outputs through 4 circuits and allows you to customize the level to around 4V that your Bose amplifier requires at the input. I simply turned each level control until I noticed distortion and reduced it by 1/8 turn. Sounds great and will get you out of the car with high volume. No more battery drain, no more dead battery after a week of inactivity and no movement. This is the adapter you need when replacing a Bose head unit. Others using RCA outputs are too weak for a Bose amplifier, resulting in low volume levels. Connecting high level speaker outputs to a Bose amplifier will introduce distortion. This is the way.
