Note the enormous size of this light bulb!

The duper Brite 6500k lamp is hopefully good for short-term indoor aquatic plants. Against and not specified in the ad. This lamp is about the size of a 2 liter plastic coke bottle. I hope the more the merrier. I need another reflector

Wow, those suction cups are bright!

Bought one of these to see if it would work in my 30x50 garage. I was impressed by the brightness and most of all I was concerned about the boot time in very cold conditions (-25°C). I am happy to report that in extreme cold they reach full brightness in minutes and are great for illuminating a large garage with a hanging pendant light. fixtures.

Good lights BUT: bulbs

I ended up sending two of these back thinking they were bad --- but the real problem was the plastic ballast is so wide it gets stuck on the end of the dome , which makes screwing it in completely impossible, even with a 300-watt bulb. Please note that with these lamps it is extremely important that the socket you are using is fully open and does not fit into any type of dome etc as it will NOT fit.

Supernova Death in Lightbulbs

I was very happy with these lightbulbs while they worked, which in their defense took quite a long time with infrequent use (about 30 hours a week for three to four years) to finish was first became "Supernova". At the time of his death, he seemed intent on taking everything else with him, for he was emitting a terribly strong, noxious-smelling smoke that filled the house and took several days to get rid of. What's more, it was the middle of winter and sub-zero, so we sat in our coats with the…

great light - CFLs

I bought a couple of these grow lights. They shine great but their design as they are CFLs means you really need to make sure there are good reflectors around them. The photo on this page doesn't give a good idea of her size either. They are comparable to a 1 liter bottle of soda or a 40 ounce bottle of malt liquor. One of the main advantages of these lamps is that they fit into a standard light bulb socket and as they are rated at 105 watts most sockets can handle this voltage and deliver an…

Warning: Bulbs

Bought 1 SL105/30k/MED and 1 SL105/65k/MED. The products survived their MTBF, however the 65k failure mode was relatively catastrophic in my case. The weight of the glass tube and my usage characteristics (daily work 12-18 hours a day, with insufficient ventilation and horizontal installation) made for an interesting spectacle when I came home one day. The glass tube has melted through the flame retardant case separating the connector from the case, which likely caused a high open circuit…

Brighter, bigger and bluer than most 85w incandescent bulbs

Quality light, definitely brighter than my 85w incandescent bulb. This is to be expected as this is a 6500K lamp, but it also produces definitely cooler light (more blue, less red) than regular 5500K studio CFLs. Being much dimmer than my 85w bulb and only consuming <70w when tested with Kill A Watt. I was very upset that they were dimmer and used less than 85 watt bulbs but were sold as 105 watt bulbs and I quickly returned them. When I got this I immediately compared it to my 85w bulb and…
