Bought 1 SL105/30k/MED and 1 SL105/65k/MED. The products survived their MTBF, however the 65k failure mode was relatively catastrophic in my case. The weight of the glass tube and my usage characteristics (daily work 12-18 hours a day, with insufficient ventilation and horizontal installation) made for an interesting spectacle when I came home one day. The glass tube has melted through the flame retardant case separating the connector from the case, which likely caused a high open circuit voltage on the internal driver. The driver overheated and burned part of the fireproof casing. My lamp's reflector was slightly burned and some of the coating was peeling off, luckily it was an all metal construction. To be clear, I don't blame Sunlite, I blame my poor ventilation and choice of mount. I recommend people considering purchasing this product do more research on what they are trying to achieve and possibly explore other avenues and if persistent make sure there are absolutely no flammables within about 6 inches of the product Substances are to be left alone for long periods of time. Thank you for reading. ;)
