As an elderly parent/homemaker father, for the second time with an 8 month old son, I consider myself somewhat experienced in childcare and child safety. My baby Seth (or Il Maestro as we call him because he likes to listen to Vivaldi's The Four Seasons before bed) just loves to play and ride on this ABC mat. He crawls, stands, fidgets, and occasionally falls over while playing the mat without incident. (Disclaimer note: I put a Safavieh (12ft x 18ft) plush wool rug under him, just added a bit more cushion as he likes to make plant faces on soft surfaces sometimes. Lol). One of the reasons I chose this particular ABC mat was the thickness of each foam connector, yes the individual letters and numbers pop out with relative ease when he tries to pull them out, but I personally like that feature. . (While watching songs with letters and numbers on Sesame Street or CHU-CHU TV, I usually take the numbers and letters off the mat so he can physically touch them and gain tactical experience with them. It's very easy to get them back to attach the mat. as we go from one letter to the next. He loves it! As far as product stats go, it arrived quickly, was beautifully packaged, very easy to set up and just as easy to put together and put away quickly. Our little master loves to play on this mat so much that we're actually considering buying another set for his upstairs bedroom.
