Check below for updates, changed from 4 stars to 3 ports and memory cards. First of all, in order to use the hard drive in the case, you MUST use a USB-C connection. It doesn't work with a CA cable with my MacBook Pro (Mid 2015), either directly or through a powered hub. USB ports and card readers work, but the drive doesn't get enough power (not even an SSD) to be recognized. So know what's going on. The same SSD works on this old Mac with a FWIW SATA to USB-a cable. You'll know if you have enough energy when the second light (white) comes on. The blue light indicates the front ports are working. As soon as it connected to my m1 mini, a white light came on and the drive was immediately visible. 1 star deduction for 2 reasons. Whenever the Mini goes to sleep, you get a 'disk disabled without ejecting' notification every time, which is annoying. But I also have a Samsung USB drive that is sometimes slow to pop up when I plug it into one of the front USB ports. Will it take 30s 1m to appear? It plugs directly into the USB ports on my MBP. All in all, this is a great looking mini USB-C hub. You just need to fix the problem where the minidisk goes to sleep and the sata drive loses connection. OK < after switching off for a few days, the mini-login goes into hibernation every time, it was too often, it comes back. Also, it's USB-C, we all know that, but Mac mini has Thunderbolt 3 ports. The speeds over the C hub are too slow. Not exactly the hub's fault, but still an issue for me. I switched to a Thunderbolt hub (double the price) and my read and write speeds are MUCH faster and I have no connection problem. I miss the form factor, but that's about it.
