This set works, but you may need to get creative. Feels dirty inside.

Most DIYers are going to hate having to do what I did to get this job perfect. I installed a single din stereo in my 1989 Chevy Silverado. So that applies to my truck. Maybe this kit is perfect for say. Silverado 1994. I don't know. But here are my problems that I faced. Firstly, you will need to reuse the metal retaining clips from the underside of the existing plastic panel. If you don't have this bar, you're already having a bad day. One of mine broke while removing it, so it's not perfect anymore. Second, you need to drill holes for the bleed spigot so the bleed on the side of the spring has enough room to hold the W-shaped retaining spring. Third, you will need to drill or blast holes that are slightly wider and taller than the existing holes in the W detent spring. They just won't work if you don't. Fourth, the top mounting clips are too big. You have to push them home with a flathead screwdriver and tell yourself that if you ever have to take them off to get something, you'll break them. They're not expensive, but still annoying. Fifth, the gray looks more like a yellowish gray than my truck's bluish gray. It sticks into my dashboard like a sore thumb. Everything in this set looks like something out of your grandfather's Harriet Carter mailing book. Just Mickey Mouse, trashy stuff. But. That's the only way to get a DIN in your Chevy that well. I am sure there is nothing better on the market. So. Beggars can't vote. The end result of my installation is fine. It's an old truck with a modern stereo. Mission accomplished. Minus points at the Concours d'Elegance are FOREVER.
