Review on πŸ”§ Sparco SPR01796 3 Hole Adjustable Heavy Duty by Carol Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It needs some work to make it work properly.

Don't punch anything important until you've made no more mistakes with this punch. Here are the issues I encountered: First, when I took it out of the box, the adjustable punches were slightly offset for a standard 3-hole punch. I had to take a screwdriver, loosen them and realign them. Second, the silver piercings are BUTTER and left big fat rings around all of my holes after the first hundred hits or so. I've taken a bunch of scraps and a lot of beatings and now I don't see any oil rings or stains. I assume everything will be fine from now on. Third, a metal slider that allows you to VERY easily adjust where you want the bottom of the paper to touch the slides. It has nice notches that show when you are aligned with one of the dimensions, but they slide out of the notches easily. That might be fine if you're constantly changing paper sizes, but I always die-cut the same paper size. I opened up the puncher and glued the metal slider into the puncher and now it doesn't move. FYI, the springs are a bit tight - it takes more force to push the punch through than the last punch I tried. , which was advertised as "easy" to hit. But I don't see that as a disadvantage. I believe this requires "normal" strength to hit, not light strength. The bottom line is that this isn't a punch you're likely to use right away. Now that I have the punch set up it works fine and I hope to continue using it.

Pros
  • Number of punch heads: 3 - adjustable
Cons
  • So far so good
