I finally built a decent workbench for my garage and needed a rotating vise to complement it. After reading about several Yost and Wilton models, I stumbled across the Shop Fox 5-Inch Rotating Vise on this list. After checking the manufacturer's website (Woodstock International) and doing some reading, I discovered that this vise weighs 44 pounds (about 21 kg) and is primarily made of 50,000 psi ductile iron. It can clamp at around 7500 psi and has a steel handle, shaft and jaws. Tube clamps are not interchangeable, but V-clamps and cleat clamps are interchangeable. There's also an anvil area and a scale stamp (correct) to show the degree of rotation (in degrees). This Shop Fox 5" vise also comes with light grease on all rotating parts so you don't have to worry about rusting. With most rotary vises, you first set and then tighten the rotation of the vise jaws before clamping the object. On this Shop Fox model, rotate the jaws to the desired orientation and then tighten. By clenching your jaws, you also fix the alignment of your head rotation. At first I was concerned that this method wouldn't work in practice on heavy objects, but so far it's working great (and faster than the old style). For assembly, I used 3/8" thick steel bolts in my 2.25" maple workbench and have had no problems so far. The largest object I had in a vise weighed about 180 pounds and held it steady and at an angle. These grips work amazingly. My first impressions are good and I will update this review about every six months, but five stars so far!
