Review on 📻 Sylvania SRCD286 Portable Cassette Boombox: Music on the Go! by Oscar Ferrell

Don't buy this. I was looking for a basic cassette player for a 94 year old veteran to listen to his old cassettes. Good quality simplicity is what I was looking for, but in a technology that is four decades old. Should work right? Well the tapes he wanted to play work fine in his car player but NOT in this Sylvania player. The packaging was fine upon delivery and we allowed the temperature of the package to acclimatize at home for two days (cold outside upon delivery). Out of the box and trying it out, the cassette player jumped and played VERY slowly, the CD tray didn't open and close well, and the controls were terrible. I'm really disappointed that a basic cassette player is so hard to come by and that the quality I've come to expect from Sylvania over the years doesn't live up to this product. i will return it
