📻 Sylvania SRCD286 Portable Cassette Boombox: Music on the Go! Review

My mom is 88 years old and loves music. She has many cassettes and a few CDs of her favorite songs, but her old players withstood the surge and stopped working. This little boombox sounds great and is small and light enough for easy portability. It was a great replacement for her older players and I made sure she had a small surge protector with her.

This little "boombox" is more or less a child's toy. It's very small and the letters for the controls are hard to read. The sound quality might be ok if you could hear the speakers. The volume control is useless as even at maximum volume there is no sound from across the room. Boomboxes that cost half as much have twice the volume. If you want to listen to music, I wish you the best of luck.

Item lasted less than 3 months. There is no antenna to tune the radio and no stations are received. The speakers wheeze when listening to the device. Whether CD, Aux or cassette. Terrible purchase. Customer service for a manufacturer is a joke. They make you go around in circles, go to this website, call this number, back and forth without ever being able to contact anyone by phone, email or website. Just rubbish!

Bought for my 88 year old mother because she wanted to listen to her cassette tapes that she has. That thing is so cheap. Don't waste money! The sound is muffled, the handles are shaky. There is no antenna and it is difficult to find a transmitter. I knew it wouldn't be very good quality but if I could give stars I would. i return today Oh yes, the box was open on the side. I bought this for both a cassette player and a CD player. I have a cassette that I really want to play and it's I can't buy any other format. Don't buy this. I was looking for a basic cassette player for a 94 year old veteran to listen to his old cassettes. Good quality simplicity is what I was looking for, but in a technology that is four decades old. Should work right?
