Simple and cheap. Worked great to power a wi-fi bridge 200ft above the tower. These are 100% passive devices and do not compensate for voltage drops on long cables. In real world use cases, you can either calculate the voltage drop and increase the supply voltage accordingly, install a separate DC-DC at the other end, or just buy something (like TP-Link) that runs at half the specified voltage.
