Leak-proof/insect-proof
Unfortunately, this product is not leak-proof or insect-proof. I live in the southeastern United States and food moths are a constant struggle. You can easily reach this container through the hinged lid. If you are not very careful the contents of the container can also fall under the hinge area at the top of the lid and is very difficult to clean without removing and cleaning the lid after each use. Another disadvantage is that access is through the top of the container and you cannot stack other things on top. I would recommend containers with sloping front lids that allow for stacking and don't have an annoying flap.
