Review on National Hardware N260-143: Heavy Duty Picture Hanger French 🖼️ Cleat Bracket, 12 inch Aluminum - Holds 100lbs, Bubble Level Included by Tylin Meyer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used this to hang a full length mirror in about five minutes.

These simple French braces are strong and reliable. If you haven't used a french clip before, the principle is that you hang one piece permanently on the wall and the other on whatever you're hanging. You assemble them separately and then install them together. Gravity pushes them tightly against each other, and if you position them correctly, it will help keep the bottom edge of the frame/mirror/etc. against the wall to prevent wobbling. Wall mounting is easy. The small, detachable bubble level is a nice addition that makes a relatively simple job even easier. The inclusion of walldog anchors in my book is a huge plus - they fit almost any type of wall. I have a splint and cast and the walldogs are narrow enough not to chew through the cast but long enough to sink safely into the support splint. Make sure you carefully align the bracket on the back of the frame/mirror - any misalignment can result in breakage. There will be a crooked installation. The French plank isn't very tolerant of misalignment—you sacrifice good safety for that. As you can see from the photos, I was able to hang a 66" x 30" mirror with no problem.
