The HP 553 is used in a small office and prints about 1000 pages per month, 99% black and white with very little color logo. I bought in March 2013 for over $1100. After about a year, the magenta toner started soiling my papers and seeping into the machine. I called HP support. Big waste of time. They said "this is a belt". "I'm an engineer," I said, "it's not about the ribbon, it's about the toner." Support is a joke. I paid about $200 for a new red toner and it works great. Then, a year later, the cyan started the same streak. Again, HP support said, it is a belt. Talking to them is like talking to a wall. I bought blue toner for $200 and it worked fine. The yellow toner is now spreading. These cartridges are almost full! But it doesn't work anymore! To be fair, if you print a lot with colors it's possible that you'll use it before it goes bad. I don't know why they go bad and HP support is useless.
