I wish I had a new one for a long time; This new one fits much better and therefore seals much faster. That's great! You know I had 3 bad experiences since I wrote this amazing review; This new gasket is thinner than the original gasket from the 1970's and flipped three times as the cap "screwed tight" and the pressure pushed it out of the cap rather than through the top opening which is scary. and can be dangerous. I know the seal is installed correctly, the cover is installed correctly, and the pressure port is open; so it's just a pity that this seal doesn't fit and now I'm afraid of my pressure cooker with this seal.
