Review on 🔌 iFi iDefender Plus USB Audio Ground Loop Eliminator (Type A to A) by Eric Pruett

I connected this to my computer using the recommended 5V 3A power supply, which of course had to be purchased separately. Immediately after I connected my Scarlett 2i2 to it, all of its indicators lit up and my Mac prompted me to remove the problematic device. I removed them both. The iDefender itself felt very hot despite being on for less than a minute. I tried Scarlett on my own: all the lights came back on and my computer didn't recognize it. The interface itself did not respond to any actions. I restarted my computer and reinstalled the drivers to no avail. I even tested it on my laptop, which was pretty much the same. He's dead. On the plus side, all those annoying noises have been eliminated. Although I could get the same effect for free by simply smashing my interface with a ball-faced hammer.
