The thing really works.

I have a stack of Shia Modi and Magni. You're connected to a system with an Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU, and when a game is running at over 60 fps, the graphics card sends so much electrical noise through my system that I can easily hear it through connected headphones or speakers. on large amounts. This happens even with absolutely nothing but a USB DAC connected to the PC - no external ground loops. This is a buzzing, grinding sound that is extremely unpleasant and changes pitch depending on the…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic

It works. It works legally. But first you need to properly diagnose the problem. I have a Yamaha Modx that I have connected the line outs and USB to so I can control my DAW and record through the line outs. Because the line outs go to standalone DI and ground is there and ground goes to keyboard and USB has its own ground. it creates a ground loop. USB also picks up noise from the computer's motherboard. IFI separates the ground, thus eliminating the noise. If you have a DAC or sound card that…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Very expensive

My GPU is no longer loud!

Works as advertised once you have accurately diagnosed the audio problem! Don't listen to those who say it doesn't work. The GPU ran the main highs through my studio monitors depending on how much it was being used. Even without a working GPU, I heard a hum. I bought it hoping it would solve these problems and it certainly helped! A few things to look out for: Includes a 5V to USB-C adapter for use with a separately sold power bank. I wish it had come with one for the price, I just used a spare

Pros
  • Hands-free
Cons
  • Crumpled

Does what it says on the tin.

Don't expect any sound upgrades, audiophile voodoo or some "coloring". It doesn't, and anyone who says otherwise is a victim of marketing jargon. I'll explain what it does and what it's good for: If you have background noise due to bad USB ports (this is more common than you might think. Even my premium Threadripper motherboard makes a lot of noise), use this in combination with On decent 5V linear power supply eliminates the noise mentioned above. My Schiit Modi 3 sounded like crap. Hissing…

Works pretty well

I was experiencing crackling and static when I connected the USB-A cable from my Lattitude 5510 laptop (and 5511 too) to my JDS Labs Atom DAC . This increased when I was doing something on my computer that required processing - opening a program, moving the mouse, etc. Dell even replaced the mobile circuit board twice and then wanted to completely rebuild my software. Very disappointing - they dare not admit that it is a grounding problem in the system. This ONLY happens when I have something…

It fried my audio interface!

I connected this to my computer using the recommended 5V 3A power supply, which of course had to be purchased separately. Immediately after I connected my Scarlett 2i2 to it, all of its indicators lit up and my Mac prompted me to remove the problematic device. I removed them both. The iDefender itself felt very hot despite being on for less than a minute. I tried Scarlett on my own: all the lights came back on and my computer didn't recognize it. The interface itself did not respond to any…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging

  • Reliability

Also does what it should!

Due to a lot of interference in my studio from all my electronics I was getting a high pitched squeak and I gotta tell you it was driving me crazy haha. Plugged this bad boy in and it worked right away, zero noise. Be silent! Now I can live and work in the world. Remember that you need a 5V/1.5A-2.5A power adapter to make it work properly. Update, this thing is better than I expected. USB hub afterwards to integrate multiple interfaces for aggregated I/O. I have of course my SSL2 which I…
