I purchased this product to mount on my HP all-in-one desktop to reduce glare. It has virtually no border and I was hesitant to apply the tape directly to the screen, so I tried Method 2 first. I found that this method kept the filter about a millimeter from the monitor surface, which was enough to avoid text distortion to cause . It was very uncomfortable to read. So I removed all the clear plastic holders and tried Method 1. This made the filter fit the screen snugly and text reading was much better, although there was still a slight distortion. I was able to compensate by increasing the font size. Method 1 probably would have worked if I had applied the tape all the way to the screen and not part of the bevel. Luckily, the included tape is sufficient for experimentation and is easy to remove. I didn't need the privacy feature, but it works great for this purpose. Overall this is a good, well made product that is easy to install. Four stars only for text corruption, but maybe inevitable.
