This is some serious dehumidifier! It's built for commercial use, so it can definitely handle my damp basement. (I have included some photos of it being installed and used in my basement.) This unit is large and heavy. My wife was supposed to help me carry it inside and then down the stairs to the basement. It has wheels and a sturdy handle so it can be easily moved when there is no ladder. The device sucks air out of air. The power cord and drain hose are quite long, which allows for flexible use. The most unique feature of this dehumidifier is that it can connect to Wi-Fi networks and then be controlled remotely via an app. The app seems well designed and allows you to control the humidity setting etc. You can see the current temperature and humidity of the air entering the device as well as the air leaving the device. The instructions are very clear for the most part and I found them helpful as I had never set up a device like this before. I had some minor issues connecting to my Wi-Fi network. Maybe it was the rather weak signal in my basement, but I'm not sure. In any case, I was able to connect the device after several failed attempts and have had no more problems controlling it with the app since then. One thing that could be improved in the manual is the instructions for plugging and unplugging the device. drainage tube. Maybe most people would know how to do this, but it wasn't so clear to me. I was able to connect the hose but I had to ask my wife for help to figure out how to disconnect it. (If you're reading this and want to know, you have to click on the blue part of the fitting. I've attached a photo.) The dehumidifier is fairly quiet for its size. You'll definitely know when it's running, but it doesn't sound significantly louder to me than other, much smaller dehumidifiers I've used. There's no doubt that this is more dehumidifier than I need for everyday use, but it's reassuring to know I can quickly dehumidify a space if it's flooding. As a techie, I also like the ability to control usage and remotely control the device entirely from the app. I am satisfied with the purchase of this dehumidifier.
