Review on πŸ‘“ Foster Grant Charlsie Women's Multifocus Glasses: Enhancing Clarity with Rectangular Frames by Liz Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn't expect them to work well - I was wrong

I've been using reading glasses for many years and have the endless problem of putting them on to read and taking them off to see things differently. put them back on, read, lean in closer to see the computer, lean back again, soap, rinse, repeat. My optometrist recommended progressive lenses so I could have a prescription for close-up reading, a separate prescription for computer work, and a top no-prescription prescription so I could see far. I didn't want to buy prescription varifocals because they would cost me $500-$700. With that money, I figured I could make a living putting on and taking off my reading glasses at the pharmacy. Then I saw an ad for Foster Grant multifocus glasses. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations for these lenses. I mean, how could Foster Grant offer good, working progressive lenses for $35 when they cost hundreds of dollars in optics? They are Revain though, so I figured if they're useless I can always return them. That's the problem. I've had them for almost a week now and there's no way I'm returning them. I love her! A few years ago I wore progressive lenses and couldn't get used to them. Find out they are making them much better now and have fixed some of the issues the early progressives had. Foster Grant included lens improvements. However, there is a learning curve with using progressive lenses, whether they are prescription or over-the-counter lenses. Progressive lenses (prescription or non-prescription) provide poor peripheral vision. The field of view is almost straight ahead. You have to turn your head to look directly at what you want to see for the clearest possible view. Once you know this about progressive lenses, it won't be difficult for you to adapt. I am very happy that these Foster Grant multifocal glasses are working so well for me and even happier that I have saved several hundred dollars by not ordering prescription lenses and frames. if they work just as well. I will order a second pair as a replacement.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
