Bought two of these as an experiment to replace some of the ceiling lights in the living room. They are amazing. The light is bright, much brighter than I expected and the daylight color is excellent. While they don't buzz and don't heat up, they just turn on and work right away. Do not compare the same "power" indicators. The lamps have a certain weight and look very solid and well made. The packaging is excellent, with a minimum of waste, yet the bulbs are well protected during transport. victory in every respect. I'll be updating this review in about six months to see how they hold up to everyday use, but my initial reaction is 100% positive. Update June 2015: My wife loved them so much that I replaced all the ceiling lights in the living room with them. Now the place is lit up like a solarium, using less energy than a 100 watt incandescent bulb. We have long, dark winters, but it's hard to tell. She spends a lot of time with her laptop in the room and just loves the light. The bulbs give off less heat than the reflectors I had in sockets so it's a nice addition in the summer. These lanterns are an absolute hit in our home. Update - May 2016 - They just keep working. I love her. All ceiling lights (kitchen and dining room) will be replaced as existing lightbulbs fail.
