ATTENTION! This is a DETAILED review. See RESULTS section for summary ---------- When it comes to coffee, we prefer draft coffee. When we go camping, it's not practical to take a fragile potting kit with us, so we thought this might be a good solution for us. Wow, we really were. ok, let's talk about it. WHAT IS IT FOR? This pot comes with different parts: KETTLE COOKER I believe it cannot exceed 12,000 Btu which means you have to be careful what you use to boil water. If you don't have a camp stove, using it around a campfire is impractical due to severe temperature swings. This will damage the fins. Volume 2.5 liters. There are handles on the back and top - you need both for pouring. This is aluminium. POUR OVER POT This is what the coffee gets after the filter is put on and you pour the water over the coffee grounds. This one has foldable handles with silicone on them and a silicone ring on the bottom to keep it from sliding on the countertop. It's aluminum. FILTER HOLDER Plastic and has two holes on the bottom. A size 4 coffee filter is to be used. LID This is also made of plastic – it is intended to close both the water jug and the coffee jug. Yeah right. More on that later. MEASURING SPOON It has a small spoon that you use 1.5 per cup of coffee. Why they didn't just make 1 scoop equal to a cup of coffee I don't understand. HOW TO USE IT? You should use this by placing the kettle on the stove with the lid closed and boiling it. Cooking takes about 10-15 minutes depending on the ambient temperature. Once you've done that, you have a saucepan with a filter holder and a size 4 filter on the holder and medium bottomed on top - 1 1/2 scoops per cup. With this set you can prepare up to 12 cups of coffee. After the water has drained, wait a little and then pour over the thick and wet. Stop and wait about 30 seconds and then keep watering, making sure to keep the filter always full of water until you get the right amount of water and let it drain. Throw away the filter and the set, which should be eco-friendly. Friendly. HOW IT WORKS? Have you ever had four people who were dying for a coffee after a nice night at the campsite and it lasted FOREVER? What a disappointment! I almost mutinied, it was such a disappointing experience. The water cooled very easily, and although I poured it over the coffee grounds immediately after boiling, it only subsided for a few minutes, and then the water stayed there. VERY long time does not fall. The family was very upset. In the end I had to give up the filter and do it differently. YES, I used medium sized coffee and there is no reason this should have happened. ADJUSTED IT WORKS MUCH BETTER. TERRIBLE to good. Let me tell you about it: INSULATED BANDI sewed velcro to wrap around the coffee pot when I'm trying to pour coffee through the filter to keep it cool. I made some electrical tape to attach it. For the price of this kit it should have it. STRAINER The next thing I did was use the METAL STRAINER that came with the Ninja Smart Coffee Maker. It's about the size of a size 4 filter and fits perfectly in this camping mount. After using it with a slightly finer coffee grind, it was MUCH better and faster! I will try to buy an extra one and keep it with the set as I prefer to keep the original with Ninja Maker. OTHER PROBLEMS Another problem is that when pouring coffee into cups, the silicone ring kept falling off. It was very uncomfortable. HOT HANDLES The handles will get hot, so be prepared. LIDOMG this cover sucks. It fits the coffee pot (although the plastic is really weird - I'd prefer metal) but it's ridiculous for the coffee pot. Having a lid scale on a coffee pot is unreliable - PLEASE trouble. For the price of this device, they had to design a second lid to match the coffee pot. CONCLUSION This set needs work. Disappointing to use as recommended if you want HOT coffee for more than one person. With some adjustments I made, we like it a lot better. MY RATING IS THREE STARS but that's only because my customizations I made to use it are working fine. Otherwise I would have given a lower rating. I find the plastic lid on the metal teapot ridiculous, and the lack of something that MATCHES the coffee pot to warm it up is silly too. If they made a new unit with my settings it would be much better (if they included a metal lid for the coffee pot).
