Pros: The aerator works really well when you don't have time to let a bottle of red sit after opening. I could definitely taste a difference between the two glasses of wine - one aerated and one not.Cons: You have to be super careful after pouring, or some of the wine will run down the side of the bottle. No one wants to waste wine, even if it's just a few drops. The additional stopper is supposed to pull excess air out of the bottle to keep the wine from tasting flat. It's a plunger-type mechanism that, as far as I can tell, doesn't actually work. I have one for champagne that works really well; this one for wine, um, not so much.The other thing I didn't really care for is the packaging. There were no instructions in the package, and the aerator and stopper came sealed in separate plastic bags and stuffed into a plain brown box. It screams "cheap" - not ideal if you are considering the set as a gift.
