This card was recognized immediately by Windows XP and is working as expected. This was for my old Gateway computer that only had two USB 2.0 ports. It's nice to have a few more USB 2.0 ports. I say a few more (not exactly 5) because this card actually shares the first and second ports and also shares the fourth (outer) port with the fifth (inner) port. Also, I would have preferred a "male" connector for the internal connection to make it easier to connect other extras, e.g. B. FireWire for a backup hard drive. Overall I am very happy with this card for its ease of installation and performance at a very low price. Don't pay more than you need! Update: Just wanted to let you know that when using the 5th (internal) port I was no longer able to use the 4th (common) external port. I think because I tried two high performance devices at the same time, namely webcam and multicard reader.
