For the most part it does what it's designed to do and if you're planning to haul a 5" fat bike on your rack then you need it. However, there are some things related to it. a product I don't like. First of all, it's the price. Charging $50 from your customers who have already paid a decent amount of money for the rack itself seems to have an advantage. It's $100 if the person wants to switch from either side of their outside line ($200 if you're also using an extension). Second, the buckle is attached to the rear wheel mount with flimsy, unreliable material. It broke on mine and I saw another friend had the same problem. This can cause the rear end of your bike to suddenly come loose while riding on the freeway. Not cool. Thule replaced mine under warranty but the redesign seems fine. Finally, I don't like having to take the rear strap off and on again every time I'm going from a fat bike to a bike with smaller tires.
