I recently sustained a major cut on my natural hair and use this as part of my washing routine: After applying conditioner, use this brush, starting at the ends of my hair and then working my way up until I win. You can't clear all the way from top to bottom. I find it easiest for my hair texture to detangle my hair when I hold the bristles in place and it also helps prevent my conditioner from splattering as opposed to when the bristles are loose. The subsequent cleaning of the brush is also very easy, since the spaces between the bristles are easily accessible thanks to the brush design. I detangle my hair a bit when I wash it and that's the only thing I use to get the job done. I've tried using this to style my hair when trying to achieve a sleek look with my gel but it doesn't do what I need it to do unlike my "Denman" brush. All in all, I'm glad I bought this!
