Review on BESPIN Binoculars for Kids: Enhance Wildlife Exploration with High-Resolution Real Optics and Reversible Bird Map by Daniela Velasquez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheap, and it shows: not cheap enough!

Good idea and my son was looking forward to using them but they broke on his first walk (one set of prisms got misaligned making the image very dark and strange to one eye). Nothing offensive, just a smack when it's around his neck. Garbage. I added a star because the Revane replacement process was completely painless and I am considering the second pair. Binoculars came as a replacement, haven't broken yet. However, they're still pretty crappy. Maybe a step above what you can find at Happy Meal. The optics are a headache, as are less demanding toy binoculars, and the diopter setting is unstable and unadjustable (my 20/20 vision pushed it all the way up to work). I wasn't expecting Swarovski quality here for $20, but the positive feedback they've had here at Revain is frankly surprising given the mediocre optics and poor quality control. Do yourself a favor and save up for a real (restored?) stamp for your child. Binoculars, even if they cost more (I was happy with the $80 Nikon Trailblazer for my oldest son). It costs an additional $60 to avoid headaches and the feeling of buying something that should have come for free in a Cracker Jack box.
