2000 Chevrolet Suburban

The key fob on my 2000 Suburban lost its range and I had to press the button multiple times to get a signal from it. Thought I'd give it a try and couldn't be happier! It comes with a key fob, key blank, key ring, FCC sticker and a programming guide card. I have yet to cut the key for my car, but based on my research, my car of the year doesn't need a chipped key to work in the ignition. Anyway, I only bought it to have a new remote and an extra spare key. Programming was very easy and all I had to do was hold down the unlock switch on the driver's door while turning the ignition to the ON-OFF position. ON - OFF (while ON until the key is turned without actually starting the car). The door locks then looped and told me it was in programming mode. I then held down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the fob until the suburb manned the door locks to let me know the fob had been successfully programmed. To test this, I walked down the street and got a range of about 100 feet, which is much better than the 5 feet of my original keychain. In terms of build quality, it doesn't look like it's made out of the same type of plastic as my original keychain. This can be a good thing as my original keychain had cracks and breaks in several different places. It also doesn't feel as heavy as the original. In the future I will update how the button labels adhere as well as the durability of the case.
