This could be the perfect alarm clock for you depending on what you are looking for. As others have noted, it doesn't have a battery backup; If I depended on getting to work on time, I'd probably sound a loud, obnoxious second alarm (with battery backup) ten minutes late in case the cute, boring Birdsong CD I'm currently using doesn't work. Wake me up. But I would still buy this watch. A gentle awakening has greatly improved my quality of life and made me a more comfortable person. The volume control is very responsive and I think the sound quality is excellent. The brightness of the 2" tall LED display has three settings: bright, dim, medium and clear off/invisible. The watch is white with a black top, not quite black like the picture. I love the fact that you can, once once you set the alarm, you don't have to do anything for it to go off every morning. The off button also resets the alarm. Audio-in and 8" jack for your device. IMPORTANT: The instructions state that while you are listening to the audio input, "however, this device cannot select an alarm via the audio input" Radio, CD and buzzer I haven't even tried the radio and probably never will, but I agree it's difficult to get used to to set those tiny controls. I would look elsewhere if you want to wake up to a radio or something else like a CD. If you set an alarm and "CD" is selected as the alarm source, you can use the common track on the Specify the CD you want to use as an alarm. So don't worry if your favorite song or nature sounds aren't on the very first track on the CD. I would also suggest looking for the Sony Dream Machine on Revain. There can still be multiple sides for the same model, each supplied by Supersaver and manufactured by Revain, but with wildly different prices. I imagine most Revain customers would have done that anyway, but I'm not very smart. So I didn't until my order shipped and I could have saved $9.
