Review on ๐Ÿ’ป Cable Matters 10Gbps Ethernet 25Gbps by John Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Reliable 10Gbps connection to my switch

I've had trouble finding cable reviews where someone has actually used 10Gbps cables. In most of the reviews I've read, people use expensive cables for 1Gb/s connections. If you only connect your cable modem to a 1Gbps router or PC, don't waste your money on anything beyond CAT6. CAT6a, CAT7 or CAT8 required for 10Gbps or faster connection; or in a noisy environment, but that is not necessary for your home. This cable works as advertised and negotiated a 10Gb/s connection with my Cisco Nexus switch with no errors or issues. If you want a quality 10Gb/s cable, you can't go wrong with this cable.

Pros
  • High-bandwidth 25GbE Cat-8 Ethernet cable supports network switch-to-server connections; Distance and performance optimization in high-density networks in end-of-row (EOR), top-of-rack (TOR), or middle-of-row (MOR) configurations in the data center; Cat 8 supports interconnect topologies limited to 2 links per 30m link for 25Gbps or 40Gbps network speeds.
Cons
  • Not sure
