Please note that the screws supplied are of very poor quality. Before installing, take the time to get some good screws from your tool box, or go to a hardware store and get some. The cross section of the supplied screws is very easy to break with a drill or screwdriver. To make matters worse, as soon as I snapped the gate into place, two screw heads popped out, leaving the screws flush with the wall. I had to snap off the remaining screw heads (I couldn't get them out because the cross-section was broken). I was able to move the connectors over a quarter of an inch and reinstall them with quality screws. Otherwise everything works great. Looks good, is durable and doesn't get in the way when not in use. As some have said, the locking mechanism is a bit fiddly, but once you get the hang of it you'll be fine. Without a lock, a small child could open the gate, so it's necessary. I recommend this product. Just take my word for it, ditch the screws that come with the kit and use good ones. You save yourself a headache.
