Great security solution

I really like this gate, I bought it to close the porch when needed. We have a large yard dog who loves the porch, especially after rain, and he will find any muddy puddle to run, roll, wallow and play in and then soil the porch. I can close it completely until everything is dry. When open, it does not disrupt or disrupt normal traffic.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Expensive

Needs some fiddling

This product requires a wall mount and comes with all the hardware to do it, but the frustration comes from turning on the screen. You can pull it out within about an inch of the latch, but if you slow down at this point, the latch will engage and you'll have to fiddle with the back-and-forth motion of the release to finally lock the gate. Other variations on this design that I'm familiar with are less impractical in the sense that you can pull out and latch the gate and then latch the gate. In

like my baby on Door & Stair Gates

Works like. Installation is difficult as the left and right sides need to be very well aligned. If the distance between the top attachment points and the two bottom attachment points is slightly different, like in my setup, then the blade sags noticeably on one side. An adventurous boy like my little one can open either the top or bottom latch just by pulling on it. Then the baby can climb the stairs. Another problem is that when a child presses on the center of the sheet, there is tremendous…

There are good/bad sides

We bought this to keep our 2 beagles out of our kitchen and it was very easy to install. We received this in December 2018 and it "squeals" when we open it to hang it up. Fast forward to June 2019 and it still creaks, but now we're having trouble fully deploying it because it gets stuck when it's almost where we need to hook it. I'm not sure if applying WD40 would be a good idea or would ruin everything. This keeps dogs out of the kitchen 99% of the time, but they found that if we weren't…

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

This is a truly unique children's gate. We use it in our kitchen because we like having the door open most of the time. Latching on this one is harder to use than most baby gates: there's a switch you have to turn on one side to swing the gate in or out, which is a maneuver you have to perform from the other side. If you don't pull enough, you'll have to flip the switch again. So I would use this for areas where you don't want to quickly snap/unlock multiple times. Although it's soft. I hated…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Cord shorter than others

Great idea, doesn't work

I love the idea of this gate that you hardly see it unless you need it. However, they don't work well for us. The one-handed method sometimes works, but most of the time it doesn't. If I only have one hand free I have to repeat the method about 6 times before it works. Also, and what's even more frustrating, the part that's supposed to block retraction doesn't work on either of them. My little one can now lean on it and it always cleans up. Very insecure! We will have to replace them. I gave…

Great product but beware.

Please note that the screws supplied are of very poor quality. Before installing, take the time to get some good screws from your tool box, or go to a hardware store and get some. The cross section of the supplied screws is very easy to break with a drill or screwdriver. To make matters worse, as soon as I snapped the gate into place, two screw heads popped out, leaving the screws flush with the wall. I had to snap off the remaining screw heads (I couldn't get them out because the cross-section

LARGE GATES: Gates and Gate Extensions

We love these gates! As both my husband and I read the comments, we were a bit worried about one or the other. It turns out there are a lot of people who don't understand the instructions. The assembly of the gate took about 30 minutes. Although the husband is very convenient. Everything said is provided and all in the best shape. The extra spacers were very important for where we installed them at the top of the steps. You need 2 hands to open and close the gate, but if you don't, it won't be…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
