Works like. Installation is difficult as the left and right sides need to be very well aligned. If the distance between the top attachment points and the two bottom attachment points is slightly different, like in my setup, then the blade sags noticeably on one side. An adventurous boy like my little one can open either the top or bottom latch just by pulling on it. Then the baby can climb the stairs. Another problem is that when a child presses on the center of the sheet, there is tremendous reaction force at the attachment points. Ours were pulled out once with the screws and anchors provided. I've reinstalled with longer screws and it's holding up so far. I suggest trying something else.
