I would say it's better than regular feed bags. It's definitely good for those who need to feed a large portion. Holds more than normal bags. When the horse lifts its head, the feed rolls back so it's not all on its nose. It took some time to figure out how tight each strap should be. The headband didn't hurt. The back strap is a bit confusing. Tight or loose, it still slipped forward. And if you try to let it farther back, the horse will throw its head back because it's pulling its nose up against its chest. But we did it and everything works fine. The only thing is the grid. I suppose they think people feed their horses down comforters, all of which are soft and don't rub or chafe. This bag lasts a little longer than the regular ones, but that stupid net is still full of holes. My horses eat in a paddock with mud, no rocks or anything. The floor ALWAYS wears out. I think I can keep the dead pockets and sew one side to the bottom of the other. Other than that, it's a pretty good bag.
