Review on Casabella Wayclean Wide Angle Broom by Stephanie Banks

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great bristles, some problems, a lot $

I read a great review online (interestingly from 'Wired') and wanted my wife to have the best broom ever. (We have 3 kids. $20 (actually it was $15) seems like a normal budget for a broom. Often used twice a day on difficult items like rice, pasta and construction sand.) Pros: - The bristles are hard and soft and wonderful. I sweep less hits because he catches everything. Finest material, coarse material, sand, stones and crumbs in one go. They are elastic and even create a pleasant sweeping feeling. Excellent bristles. And stubble is everything. - The broom perfectly sweeps wet spots, dries quickly, sweeps further. - Foam grip is cool. But it moves. What's good (can be rearranged), what's bad (now down on the broom). Ah, that's a minus, isn't it? Cons: - the bristles are a bit thin, they shed some dirt - but you get used to it so it's not a problem. You can even use the flip action to shoot mud where you want it. The bristles will bend/shape as you sit in the closet. It will come in handy though - don't let anyone scare you that they don't have a "memory", they do. Maybe if you leave it for a few months? - The broom now has a hard plastic circle for hanging instead of a green loop. Anyway, don't use it. It doesn't seem to be spinning. It's also not ergonomic, too small (Libman has a rounded top with a hole and texture. Bad for hanging, great for sweeping. We don't hang it) - wish the broom head was wider. No big deal, I don't think it slowed me down. - It is short! For most, that shouldn't be a problem. I'm 6ft 2in and that's fine. But why a short broom? Sometimes it worries me. Big Cons: - Okay, seriously, that. A broomstick that breaks into 3 pieces. WHY?!? Can someone please answer how blessed it is for them to be able to make 2 foot broom pieces that reassemble on the job site?! I WANTED TO LIKE IT. I WANTED to love this broom. It's together no matter what I try!" Just don't get it right. Putting the broom head on was difficult. It wasn't very difficult to twist it together, but it took some effort and you have to re-tighten. And the other joint is frozen I've never lost a "screw-the-lid" competition, I can turn with all my might. I worked so hard yesterday that I whimpered when my hand went back into place. It got stuck. LIKE IS THIS A GOOD DESIGN? (It makes it easier to transport. Not in your best interest!) I thought about removing the center section and letting the kids use the 'special' broom at their own height Oh cute. Can't. Money. Is it worth buying great bristles? Not for me. I don't feel like I'm using a $20 broom using this one and that's the main thing. I don't recommend it either .( update it's on sa my case for me 15 bucks. I. Fur) If you're small (too small for my average sized wife) and really want to feel those silky bristles and have a strong hand to rest your head on the handle and maybe superglue for the joints (unless You want to disassemble. In that case you'll have to explain that to me, and I have to explain that it won't be reliable) - then this is the broom for you. If you have $15 in your broom budget. I also got the Oxo dustpan recommended in the review: it holds the broom well, if not very tightly - it comes off with a quick change of motion. It picks things up, the rubber rim is no wonder and it ALWAYS takes a few extra swipes to get everything up, and the raised inseam is a bit short and the carrying capacity is very light. For $15 I'm not mad, but rubber and plastic last 10 years better. Please click Helpful if this Update: LOVE was stubble. Holds up great Wish it was wide Handle wiggles a lot (about 3 times per swipe!) Foam grip is useless, won't move, won't stay in place OXO dust bag doesn't hold up very well. No amazing landing. Not exactly an amazing bucket. I finally took it apart - in fact it happened by itself. So I cut it for my little ones - once. ;)

Pros
  • That's amazing
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price
