Affordable home security but with some issues

OK so I decided to keep this camera after deciding to return it after having problems. This is due to an issue with the camera itself. You'll see if you change the video source or switch USB ports, for some reason the camera exposure will get stuck at the maximum so all you'll see is a completely blurry, super bright image , due to which it is impossible to see anything, the only solution to this is to completely restart the computer. This is a great inconvenience. If you're using this thing just make sure it's connected to the same port and don't swap or change camera sources in your software or you might end up with a blurry image like mine. I'm not sure if this is just a problem with my camera or not. I probably won't buy another one, but since it's the only good wired night vision camera, my other options are limited, so I decided to just keep it and fix it. Rating: ok, so the camera itself is actually very well built and can withstand very heavy rain. The cable is long enough to go through the window and in to the PC. The sensor itself is pretty decent, delivering pretty sharp 720p images at 30fps. However, infrared LEDs are not very good. The camera has a very narrow, clear image at night. It seems that infrared LEDs don't scatter outward far enough to see everything in their field of view. Every night I actually have to manually go into my camera software to increase exposure and brightness to get an image bright enough to see everything else, it's really dark. I'd really like to see the manufacturer add a wide-angle lens attachment. I'd be happy to pay extra for that. Pros: - Very durable and well built - Withstands heavy rain like a champ - Decent sensor and frame rate - Easy one screw assembly - Well insulated cable - Wind doesn't move the position it's pointing to - Affordable Cons: - Buggy - Crashes can sometimes occur when flashes of light appear on the camera - Infrared LEDs are weak and can't see that far - Somewhat poor field of view Recommended software: ManyCam, iSpyPictures: What you're seeing is the same camera during the day and what it looks like the night.
