Cartridges are not made last, specifically by HP

I installed this on my HP printer over two years ago. years ago i hardly used my printer on my apple, it started to print a line on the left side of the page, my windows based computer didn't so i thought it was just compatibility issues, two months later windows started based laptops do this. I found out on YouTube that this is a brush that needs to be replaced in the cartridge. I don't want to do this, the cartridges are expensive at $40-50 each and I haven't even used a quarter of the toner.
