I installed one of these in my motorhome in no time at all. I have a couple of solar panels that I installed on the roof and connected to the house battery. My solar controller and inverter are under one of the dining benches and are accessible through the outside door. I simply connected the wiring from the solar controller output jack (rarely used) directly to this jack and you are done. The dining bench has fairly thin side panels and I just traced and cut a hole to the perfect size. I bought a black cap from a local store and now I have a professional looking rig. Everyone in the dining room can easily connect to the USB charger without worrying about connecting to shore power. Brilliant!
