I had to wash my hair but I didn't want my hair to lose moisture. I have waist length curls. I tried it and was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the tip that allowed me to apply the product to my scalp. It took a few minutes to lather, but be aware my hair was messy. I wouldn't use this alone, I used a moisturizing and deep cleansing shampoo. I mainly used it on the scalp and not the rest of the hair. The scalp was not dry. I will continue to use it as a pre poo. Please note that it has an odor. The smell didn't bother me, but if you're sensitive to smells I would avoid this product.
