2007 Toyota Prius was replaced in April 2017 but wanted to make sure they would last before testing them. The dealer wanted about $1,000; The local store asked for about $500; I paid a mechanic to come to my house and install them for $35 which cost about $70. The dealer and local shop said the bumper needed to be removed, but I found a YouTube video that showed that was not the case. That didn't happen. The mechanic twisted one, but it was quickly fixed. The plug came loose after a month on one. I connected the two parts together. I like the blue color of the light as it makes the road easier to see at night when there are yellowish streetlights etc. One of them has turned from the blue of the others to a lighter one. pure white, but otherwise they work perfectly. The original factory HID bulbs lasted 10 years but would dim and go out while driving requiring me to cycle the lights. Typical death mode of HID devices. The arc gradually wears down the two wires until the arc has to jump too far to deliver a stable arc. If they last two years and I replace them for less than $100 each time, they cost less than going to a dealer or garage to fix. UPDATE: February 2019 Driver's side headlight suddenly went out. Over the past year I have noticed that the light from this bulb has changed from the bluish color of the right bulb to a more yellowish color. Then it just didn't work. The other is still blue and working. A sealed arc, high intensity discharge, or HID lamps are not the best idea. Cheap but short-lived, the originals, despite running for 7 years, were pretty dull the whole time. It seems that the transition to a brighter life is shortened. Downgraded from 5 to 3 stars. UPDATE: March 2019 So maybe it was a lamp but the ballast is bad. This could be caused by the bulb dying, but whatever the cause, the bulb is dead and so is the ballast. I threw a good one on the driver's side, but it doesn't work there. I had a check at the local shop and the ballast is defective. So I brought it back to 4 stars but not 5 because I'm not sure whose problem it was and the light turned yellow compared to the other.
