Review on Gemtune PA1501A Amplifier 6AD10 Black by Zach Peterson

Although the amp sounded fantastic it suffered a power failure in less than 2 weeks of use. I found it VERY hot and I suspect there is a design flaw. Upon examination, a badly burned area is visible next to one of the input transistors. One of the capacitors on the input section is severely stretched and is about to burst. The room I keep this unit in is typically <60 degrees Fahrenheit, so ambient temperature doesn't matter. I might have had a defective device, but nothing should fail in such a short time. $200 isn't exactly a "cheap" product and I would expect better quality than that. I would avoid this particular model.
