Review on Men'S Flex Stretch Tactical Water Resistant Ripstop Cargo Pants, Lightweight EDC Outdoor Hiking Work Pants By CQR by Jeff Prabhu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy and good-fitting pants for active lifestyles.

Update: Encountered s recurring issue on all 5 pairs of pants purchased so far. Not a big problem all of the secondary waistband buttons have fallen off - usually while trying to unbutton them. The thread eventually just tears away and the button falls off.A quick fix is to replace the button with a jeans-style rivet button. I used: Dritz 9-65 No-Sew Dungaree Buttons, Nickel, 5/8-Inch 4-Count ordered from revain. They have a sharp post style rivet that pushes into the button from the other side of the fabric. Didn't even need the usual pliers type tool to set them in place. Sorta scratching my head over why they used a sew-on button instead of just a second metal rivet button like the main fastener. My favorite pants have been the TWP302 utility cargo pants and they still are for hot and humid weather. However they are not as sturdy as I likearound the knees and I've worn through and/or torn a pair or two at the knee. I decided to try these and really like them. They're reinforced at the knees and are notably more robust in overall feel. I like the multiple pocket cargo pocket design with a zippered vertical pocket combined with large pockets with large Velcro flaps and with 2 smaller pockets sewn onto the outside. This essentially gives 3 layers of cargo pockets plus a small pocket on the outside of each calf. I hate carrying even a pen in shirt pockets so most of my EDC gear is carried in various pants pockets. These pants are a great way to do that. They do stretch a bit however not at the expense of losing their fit. Personally I can't stand cotton twill or denim pants that stretch, wrinkle and bag at the knees and various other places over the course of the day. These pants give where they need to but retain their shape even if worn multiple days between washing. The only drawback is the heavier fabric does retain heat more than the TWP302's. I typically fast walk my dog at lest a couple times a day on loops about mile and a half that include up and downs on some fair sized hills. In 85-degree-plus weather perspiration is more noticeable wearing these than with the TWP302's. These Flex Stretch pants are great in all but the hottest weather, offer great EDC storage, are more durable and hold their shape & fit better than previously worn pants.

Pros
  • My husband liked these pants so much that he told me to order more.
Cons
  • The cargo pockets are too big and bulky
