Although this cable is designed to operate at speeds up to 40Gb/s, it will absolutely work in a typical network environment. Anywhere a Cat5e cable is intended to be used, it can be used. I have had absolutely no problems with this cable in my network setup. I was able to achieve very good transmission speeds in my home network without any problems. The flat cable is well made and durable, and the connector doesn't feel cheap. For the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a cable with similar features at this level of quality.
