Review on Purina Smartblend Natural Large Formula by Nathan Kalivas

I can't praise a better BIG breed dog food than Purina ONE SmartBlend! We've gone through Blue Buffalo, Nutro, and Science Diet and none of these leading brands have met our kids' needs as well as Purina. Our dogs love the taste but most importantly it helps their joints by giving them the nutrients they need to be that big, tender and huge! Our Great Dane (12 months old) suffered from "growing pains" for weeks. We took him to the vet a few times and they ended up doing an x-ray which showed his growths and the areas around them were inflamed causing him to limp and cry in pain. This was either 1) due to a lack of nutrients in his diet or 2) he was showing signs of a genetic disease which required our boy to see a genetic specialist. First, our vet advised us to switch our boys to Purina ONE SmartBlend Natural LARGE BREED Formula. Since we switched places, our Dane is happy and healthy again! He hobbled around the house crying, sleeping most of the day with no motivation to do anything other than lie down because it hurt to walk or play. Now he's our good, healthy boy again! It took us about 3-5 days to see an improvement in his energy and walking. He's even gained a healthy weight and appears to have transformed into his law head! Unfortunately, being the biggest of his litter, he lacked the essential nutrients he needed to grow big and strong! It's amazing how changing his diet gave him so much energy and he completely disappeared! After his diet X-ray, his joints look PERFECT! It's like you've never flared up before! Thank you PurinaONE!
