I have purchased several nose/ear hair trimmers over the years, all for under ten dollars. The biggest issue I had was that they either slowed down way earlier than they should. This is the case with one or two 1.5 volt batteries. I think the main difference and why this is an advance is that it uses a rechargeable battery which is more powerful than any batteries that require a 1.5 volt battery or two. There is also a noticeable difference in cut quality. It also comes with three attachments depending on how you use it and as far as I can tell all three get the job done perfectly. I'll probably buy another one in case Remington stops making them.
